Claire and I created Forget me Not’s for several reasons, not least to offer genuine choice across all aspects of a funeral. Choice means there is more than one way of doing and being. Choice means there are alternatives, variations and options.

Choice offers us all a level of control and the choices we make can influence the degree of peace and comfort we feel, affect our ongoing relationships, our health and overall quality of life. So choice is important.

Understandably at a time of grieving the world can feel upside. You may think you should behave and organise things in ‘a certain way’. The reality however is that you are unique, your feelings are unique and the person who has died was also unique. So how can there be a ‘certain way’? There isn’t.  It’s for you to choose.

Passionate to help and encourage you to do what you want we have designed a wide range of choices. These included a warm, friendly and comfortable place to hold small (up to twenty people), personal funeral ceremonies. Over the years a wide variety of traditional, religious services and personal celebration of life have taken place in our home. Without exception people have appreciated the relaxed environment, unrestricted time and light refreshments as a welcome alternative.  

This month we held another personalised ceremony at our home. Here family and friends listened to music, shared storied about how they met the person, the adventurers they had together and some of the persons good traits, favourite sayings and irritating habits. Of course, there was sadness and tears but laughter too, as people gained new perspectives and added details that made the stories more colourful and in turn enhanced everyone’s memories.

Following the ceremony, we took the person to Northumberland Crematorium at Bockenfield Wood near Felton village for a Simple cremation at a prearranged time of the family’s choosing, all for only £1545.00. Alternatively, if the family had wanted, they could have chosen a different crematorium or burial ground for an additional sum depending on the place they selected.
